Turn folders and subfolders of photographs into organized WordPress galleries with one shortcode, descriptions and several viewing options.
Purchase, current package details and support terms are available on CodingRepo.
Let your folders do the organizing
Add photographs to your chosen folder inside wp-content/uploads. Simplest Gallery discovers the folders and nested albums, then displays them in a page or post. It supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP and AVIF images.
Give albums context
Add folder and image descriptions in Settings → Simplest Gallery. Rename folders or hide them from the gallery output.
Choose a view
Let visitors browse list, thumbnail and card views. Numbered project folders can also form ordered progress and timeline views.
See aggregate interest
Optional view counts store folder totals without IP addresses, visitor identifiers or tracking cookies.
Use local or S3 photos
Local galleries work on their own. With the separate Uploads to S3 plugin configured, discover verified images in its configured S3 uploads location.
From folder to gallery
- Choose a writable gallery folder in Settings → Simplest Gallery.
- Add your albums and supported image files through your existing file-management workflow.
- Place
[simplest_gallery]in a page, or select an album with[simplest_gallery folder="Travel"]. - Add descriptions and choose the folders to display.
Images link to their original files. A lightbox or preview modal comes from your theme or another integration. Hiding an album from gallery output does not restrict direct access to its image URLs.
What you’ll need
WordPress 6.0+, PHP 8.0+ and a writable gallery directory inside WordPress uploads. Uploads to S3 is an optional separate plugin.
